The Coaches from the Club will again be running an Easter Course this year from Tuesday 7 April to Friday 10 April. The course will take place outdoors at the Club (weather permitting) and Kings International College. It is planned to run two separate courses for ages U17-U13s and U12-U8s. Each course will be of 4 sessions over 2 days. Both these courses are open to Boys and Girls. Dom Peter will be leading the courses and I hope to attend on some of the days as will other ECB qualified coaches from the Club.
All attendees are asked to bring a packed lunch and drinks as well as suitable clothing/footwear for indoors/outdoors on grass. Attendees will meet at the Club at the start of the day, have lunch at the Club and be picked up from the Club at the end of the day.
The U17-U13 course will build on the technical skills learnt in the winter training sessions and include further batting, bowling and fielding workshops as well as cover more game based scenarios across both T20 and 50 over formats. Our aim is that this course continues to develop everybody’s game and be an important preparation for playing matches so each of our Juniors can get the most out of the 2015 season.
The U12-U8 course will again build on the basic technical skills of batting, bowling and fielding as well as introduce more game based scenarios to improve running between the wickets, knowledge of fielding positions, laws of cricket and how to cope in various game situations etc. We want this course to be fun so that the younger Juniors can appreciate the enjoyment of playing cricket and look forward to games in the summer.
Both of these courses will also be ideal for those of our Club Juniors who have not been able to make the winter training sessions. It will enable them to undertake useful preparation for the season since our Juniors game commence end April/early May so there will only be a couple of practice sessions before teams are picked for the first games.
At this stage we have not nominated which course will be on which two days because we want to see what works best for parents and attendees. Our preference would be to run the two courses separately, but we want to see the take up and the preference of days for parents. We are also happy that Juniors attend by individual sessions rather than commit to 4 sessions, if timings make this more preferable for parents. We are willing to consider running both courses simultaneously if the numbers and preference on days warrant this. Costs are provided in the attached booking forms.
If you wish to attend please complete the attached booking form with your preferences and return to Gill Abraham along with a cheque made payable to “Camberley Cricket Club Ltd”. Payment can also be by BACS to the Club’s Lloyds Account 00121380, Sort Code 30-91-53. Suggest reference “Surname - JEC”.
The closing date for receiving preferences is Friday 27 March.
If you have any questions on the Easter Course or would like further information please give me a call.
