Chairmans Chatter November 2012

As many of you will know I have been asked to continue as Chairman for another season, it will be an honour to take this role for another year to help the Club continue to thrive both on and off the field of play.

The Club has come a long way in the last two years, but the Club has always maintained its culture as a warm and welcoming environment, which not only attracts players and social members, but ensures that the majority stay part of the Cricket Club for many years.

The Club has built a strong foundation that we have today, but we still need to have new members join the Management Committee to bring fresh ideas and help drive the Club forward, so it’s been good to see we have some new faces on the Committee, I would like to welcome the following new members.

Julian Hagger is our new Colts Chairman, Julian has been a playing member of the Club for many years,   also his father has been Club Chairman in the past, so Julian is fully aware what we needs to be done to make the Colt Section even better than it is today. For Camberley to maintain its success both on and off the field, it is fundamental that the Colts Section becomes a major part of the overall Club. For this we want to see more Colts come through to play senior Cricket.

Andrew  Wakeling  is our new Club Secretary and has taken over from Geoff Clamp, I would like to welcome Andy ,  and wish him luck in his new role at the Club, I am sure Andy will bring a lot of new ideas to the committee.

Leonie Jackson Sedgwick. Firstly I would like to welcome Leonie onto the Committee as Social Secretary, Leonie role is to co-ordinate the great ideas that many of the members come up with and to run Social Events at the Club. It’s important we really all support the events to make them successful and help the Club raise sufficient funds, to help the Club not only for financial survival, but also allow us to invest in facilities and the infrastructure of the Club for the future.

Lesley Stephens is our new Welfare Officer at the Club, you will always see Lesley around the Club so please do not hesitate to speak to her if you have any concerns over any welfare issues.

Alan Howell has taken on the role of ClubMark Coordinator and Communication Officer for the Club, Alan has also managed a number of our Colt teams during the past four years or so, I would like to thank Alan for his help also with the Club Website, the site will also be managed by Dean Fisher as administrator, so please if you have any Club news you want to share with the members contact Alan or Dean at the website.

I am pleased to see Keith & Linda Halsey have agreed to stay on the Management Committee as Joint Treasurer, they will be working very hard to make sure the Club continues to budget correctly and make saving on all our suppliers.

I am also pleased that Gill Abrahams will continue her hard work as Membership Secretary and helping to arrange the Colt Fixtures for next season.

Paul Abraham will continue to be Cricket Chairman, working very closely with Julian and Daniel Burns with the development of our Colts and Senior Sections.

I would also like to welcome the following to the Committee, Tim Hughes, Steve Hulks, and Geoff Clamp who has agreed to say on as a member without portfolio Welcome to you all.

I am also pleased to confirm that Daniel Burns has agreed to be Camberley Club head coach again and also the first team captain for the forth coming season, Dan has a great passion for developing local talent and helping to improve standards throughout all our age groups with his team of coaches at Camberley Cricket Club.
